Guru Poornima
Guru Poornima, celebrated during the full moon in June/July, holds profound spiritual significance as it symbolizes a mind filled with love, illumination, and purity, and is dedicated to honoring the guru who dispels the darkness of ignorance. Swami revived this ancient festival in 1956, urging devotees to honor and embody the teachings of their spiritual guides. He emphasizes the superiority of spiritual wisdom over mere accumulation of worldly knowledge and encourages individuals to recommit themselves to living the profound truths imparted by their spiritual mentors.
Early in the mornings, during the foyer sessions in college, students are taught the Guru Stotram, which they later sing in Sai Kulwant Hall. Following this, a program takes place in the Mandir and concludes with Bhagawan’s divine discourse.
In the evening, the Kulwant Hall session begins with Vedam chanting at 4:30 PM. This is followed by a musical offering by an invited artist or a student group. The Mandir session concludes with the Mahamangala Aarti, bringing the day’s spiritual activities to a close.
