Shivaratri
The students of the Sri Sathya Sai Hostel for Senior Boys celebrated the divine night of Maha Shivaratri with great enthusiasm and devotion. The auspicious Ati Rudra Maha Yajnam witnessed overwhelming participation from the students, creating a powerful atmosphere of spirituality throughout the event. On the day of Shivaratri, the Card Room department presented two beautifully crafted cards to Swami. One of the cards featured a majestic depiction of the revered Kedarnath Temple, symbolizing the divine presence of Lord Shiva. The occasion was further marked by the release of the special Shivaratri edition of the Sai Chandana magazine, published by the Sai Publications department. This edition included 25 carefully selected articles and sketches contributed by the hostel students, offering a personal reflection of their devotion and creativity.
An instrumental music program was presented by the Nadaneeranjanam group, whose performance blended traditional instruments such as tavils and saxophones, filling the atmosphere with divine melodies. The traditional Panchavadyam ensemble, comprising over 15 musicians, invigorated the Sai Kulwant Hall with the powerful sounds of South Indian instruments including the chenda, kombu, and thalam, adding vibrancy to the celebrations.
A key highlight of the evening was the 12-hour-long Akhand Bhajan held in the Mandir, which saw enthusiastic and overwhelming participation from the students. Their devotional chanting echoed in unison, creating a deeply moving spiritual experience in reverence to their beloved Sai Shiva. The spirit of service was equally evident, as students actively contributed to the preparation of prasadam in the South Indian canteen. After the conclusion of the Akhand Bhajan, the students joyfully distributed prasadam, sharing their love and blessings with all present.
The entire celebration was a harmonious blend of devotion, cultural expression, and community spirit, reflecting the profound love and reverence the students hold for Lord Shiva and their Sai Shiva.
